World of Warcraft Factions - Are You Going to Join the Alliance or Will You be For the Horde?
World of Warcraft unquestionably brings role playing to a whole new level. Players are fascinated by the gaming style that requires much strategic thinking, team cooperation, and leadership. Once getting started, users immediately have to make a decision and choose a character from either the Horde or the Alliance, the two sides battling to take control of the world. While each clan has its own benefits, choosing between the two is the first significant step towards success.
Historically, the Horde and Alliance took part in a gruesome battle to conquer the world. With the war now long over, there is still a much-heated rivalry between the two factions. In terms of gaming, World of Warcraft users have the choice of selecting their characters from two different clans, the Alliance and the Horde. The Alliance consists of the Draenei, Humans, Dwarves, Night Elves, and Gnomes. The races in the Horde include the Blood Elves, Orcs, Tauren, Trolls, and Undead. After selecting the appropriate race, it should be noted that users can only create guilds and communicate with members from their respective faction. For example, if choosing a Human, then the user is incapable of cooperating with an Orc. What’s fascinating is the fact that choosing from a particular faction can pave the way for the rest of the gaming experience, as each group takes part in its own adventurous quest.
Several rules do apply for both factions as well. For instance, when creating characters, users are not able to change the faction to which they belong. Similarly, trades cannot be made between the two clans as each race is unique to its own group. However, both clans are able to bargain with each other on certain items in the neutral auction houses in Everlook, Gadgetzan, and Booty Bay. The two different factions are not able to communicate with each other either; the game integrates a unique language for each faction that makes interpersonal communication almost impossible. Users can, however, battle against the other faction in the duels and in the Battlegrounds, intensifying the already-heated rivalry between the two groups.
Here is a brief look at the races in each faction:
Alliance Races
Draenei - Recognized for their courage, the Draenei have come as the saviors of their burning homeland. Descent from Azeroth, these warriors are looking to put an end to the Burning Legion.
Dwarves - Dwelling under the mountains of Khaz Modan, the Dwarves now feel that their purpose is to learn more of their enchanted heritage. However, various obstacles have surfaced along their journeys that now make their expedition life-threatening.
Gnomes - The Gnomes are known to be very innovative, always looking for ways to take advantage of technology. After their city was destroyed, the Gnomes sought shelter from the Dwarves, and in return promised to devise new weapons and strategies to combat the enemy.
Humans - Noted for their persistent behavior, the Humans are considered mighty for surviving a brutal attack from the Orcs. The last breed of their kind, the Humans of Stormwind are looking to lead by example just like their predecessors, Sir Lothar and King Llane.
Night Elves - As the first established race in the World of Warcraft, the Night Elves are the credited founders of magic and have been able to use it in the most unimaginable ways. After the invasion of the Burning Legion, the Night Elves now look to come out of the shadows and make their presence known.
Horde Races
Blood Elves - Straight out of the forests of Northern Lordaeron, the Blood elves are led by Knight Arthas. These survivors are looking to establish their leadership despite being on the brink of extinction.
Orcs - These green beasts dominate Azeroth and do not hesitate in annihilating their enemies. Led by the Warchief Thrall, the Orcs have defined why only the fittest survive.
Tauren - Immense in size and vicious in battle, the Tauren do not erupt from their grassy homeland unless necessary. Under the leadership of Cairne Bloodhoof, the Tauren have allied with the Orcs and have similar goals in fighting to save their race.
Trolls - Residing in the South Seas, the trolls show no signs of friendship as they go about their own business. Though they have a minor alliance with the Orcs, they prefer not to be bothered.
Undead - After breaking away from the powerful Lich King, the Undead seek to gain their own free will and are not afraid to destroy anyone who interferes with their plan. Also referred to as the Forsaken, this group looks to serve and grant all the wishes of their master, Sylvanas Windrunner.
