Making Gold With Heavy Knothide Leather in World of Warcraft

One of the most useful gold making methods a leather worker has at their disposal is the ability to make Heavy Knothide Leather. This pattern, first acquired in Shattrath from the vendors there, is a limited supply item and only costs 5 gold for those that can pick it up. Alternately, the pattern can be found in Silvermoon City, bought from the vendors Tyn or Zaralda. Regardless of where you find it, the pattern is a great chance to make a lot of gold by turning your existing Knothide Leathers into Heavy Knothide Leather. The pattern only requires 5 of the former and the result is highly profitable. Finding Knothide leather itself can be made rather easy as well by taking advantage of the high supply rate of the item in Nagrand near the Safari.
However there are other methods to finding, buying or farming Knothide leather. The first and most obvious is to simply purchase it from the Auction House. If you are making the Heavy leather because you need it, this is a good choice. If you are trying to sell it, you may want to farm for it instead. A great location that is not often overcrowded is in Terrokar Forest, deep in the Skethyl Mountains. Located up the mountains there is a cave with a large population of Blackwind Sabercats. You’ll need a flying mount to get up here though. This is a great farming location, probably the best, despite the strength of the Cats. However, if you are still interested in buying your Leather, the low price on most Knothide Leather stacks is 13 gold.
If you are interested in making a full stack of Heavy Knothide Leathers, you are going to need 5 stacks of the regular leather first. The cost differential between what you pay for the regular leather and how much you can sell the Heavy Leather for is about 35 gold, directly proportionate to about 15 minutes of purchasing and crafting time, a great way to make a few gold quickly.
This is a great method for anyone with Leatherworking. Either method creates vast amounts of profit and for those that are willing to put the time and effort in, each stack of Heavy Knothide Leather is 100 gold automatically. This is a great way to put all of that hard farming to good use and make some solid gold. However, keep in mind that the auction house prices vary all the time and you could be burned if you do not immediately resell your wares after crafting.
