Lich King Requires Burning Crusade?

According to a Blizzard press conference at last months BlizzCon, the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack may require you to have the Burning Crusade installed to work. Blizzard isn’t sure if this will require an additional purchase, or if they will bundle it in at no extra cost.
I’ll post more news on this when and if it becomes official.
